Chapel off Chapel

Winner of 5 Tony Awards

Majestically depicted, this story of grandeur captures the essence of lives lost and memories everlasting.

Winner of five Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Best Score and Best Book.

In the final hour of April 14th, 1912 the RMS Titanic, on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England to New York, collided with an iceberg and ‘the unsinkable ship’ slowly sank. It was one of the most tragic disasters of the 20th Century. 1517 men, women and children lost their lives.

Based on actual characters aboard the greatest ship in the world this elegantly crafted and Tony Award winning musical focuses on their hopes and aspirations. Unaware of the fate that awaits them, the third class immigrants fantasise of a better life in America, the newly liberated second class aspire to attain a more grand lifestyle of the rich and famous, while the millionaire aristocrats of the first class dream of their supremacy lasting forever.

While their fate may be inevitable, their stories and dreams are ever lasting.

Director James Cutler (In The Heights, Parade) has designed a majestic depiction of this West End revival production, which is an Australian premiere. Set to the beautiful sounds of a six piece string orchestra, the cast of twenty accomplished musical theatre and operatic singers revolutionize how a production is presented with each actor portraying three different roles that cover a character from first class, second class and third class.

StageArt are proud to present this semi biographical Tony Award winning musical to Melbourne audiences. Executive Producer Katherine Armstrong says, “This West End revival of Titanic The Musical is a true depiction of a musical at it’s best. Breathtaking music and a operatic score gives life to a truly elegant story of hope, heart, heroism and heartache.”
